Alchemy CATALYST™ 5.0 first to get rid of hardware-dongles!

Alchemy Software Development listens to their clients and removes dongles from their latest product release

DUBLIN – September 10, 2003 – AAlchemy Software Development Limited, the leading visual translation tools provider, has announced today that Alchemy CATALYST™ 5.0 will not use a hardware dongle as a copy-protection scheme. The soon-to-be released visual localization environment, from one of the industry's most pioneering and innovative development companies, will use a license activation system similar to Microsoft Windows XP.

“During the development period of Alchemy CATALYST™ 5.0, which has spanned the past 18 months, we have consulted with a large number of our clients worldwide”, said Tony O'Dowd, CEO and President of Alchemy Software Development, “and they've expressed significant preference for a software-protection system as opposed to a hardware one. We've met this requirement head-on and removed the dongle-protection system from Alchemy CATALYST™ 5.0. Our clients need only activate their license similar to the manner in which they've activated their installation of Microsoft Windows XP.”

Alchemy CATALYST™ 5.0 is the most significant upgrade to their award winning and industry leading Alchemy CATALYST™ product line. Combining sophisticated visual environments for all of the most popular development platforms, database and XML/XLIFF technologies, it ensures that localization projects take less time to complete, quality will be improved, Engineering and QA cycle times will shorten and the overall cost of localization will be reduced.
